Peering/Transit Edge

Intelligent Traffic Engineering and Capacity Planning with Peakflow SP
Using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and NetFlow data, Peakflow SP conducts detailed peering analysis, providing the network visibility to evaluate your current peering or transit relationships. This visibility is provided through a number of reports such as:

  • Network or application traffic by autonomous system number (ASN) and AS path
  • Network-wide ASN-to-ASN traffic patterns
  • Traffic per BGP communities, next hop or prefix
In addition, built-in peering analysis tools such as ASExplorer and Peer Evaluator enable network operators to quickly identify ASNs that are suitable—or no longer suitable—for direct transit/customer relationships.

Reports provide the insight to evaluate your current peering relationships

Peakflow SP dramatically improves traffic engineering and capacity planning by correlating real-time topology information with traffic data. In fact, Peakflow SP ’s visibility is granular enough to show you where traffic is coming from or going to by geographic location (i.e., city, region or country), further enabling network operators to optimize their network, reduce costs and offer new services.

Application-Layer Visibility and Control at the Peering Edge with eSeries Solutions
Ranked among the industry’s highest-performing deep packet inspection (DPI) systems for fixed and wireless networks, Arbor eSeries solutions provide the visibility and control needed to achieve wire-speed traffic awareness, bandwidth management and unparalleled service control. The eSeries offers both application- and subscriber-aware services, enabling broadband providers to reduce costs and generate more revenue from their existing networks.

Knowing what applications are entering or leaving your network is critical to controlling backbone traffic, network costs and profitability. Designed for broadband service optimization, the eSeries enables network operators to increase the ROI on their networks via advanced application and subscriber management. When deployed at the peering/transit edge, the eSeries delivers the high capacity and performance needed to optimize a massive number of services and control network costs by:

  • Providing application-layer visibility into incoming and outgoing traffic at the peering/transit edge of the network.
  • Ensuring accurate capacity planning by providing insight into usage patterns.
  • Enabling the active management of bandwidth-intensive applications (e.g., peer-to-peer, video, etc.) to reduce transit costs and impact on network backbone. eSeries solutions provide application-layer visibility and control.
