Defending against data loss and identity theft by fortifying network security
In the financial services industry, success isn’t about winning new business. It’s about earning the trust of customers. Yet a single network outage or security breach can undermine that trust – and damage the reputation of the most highly respected financial institution. With cybercrime on the rise, financial services firms must fend off an onslaught of network attacks that can expose sensitive customer data and erode the integrity of their brand.
Arbor Peakflow X is a versatile solution that will benefit both the network operations and security teams. Today Peakflow X is enabling many of the world’s leading financial institutions to gain pervasive visibility and harden their networks against external and internal threats that can sidestep perimeter defenses and lead to identity theft, denial of service attacks and business-crippling viruses. With Peakflow X, these organizations can detect, analyze and respond to such security attacks in real time – long before their signatures are available.
The Peakflow X solution
- Leverages “IP Flow” technology in existing network switch and router infrastructure to deliver pervasive, cost-effective network visibility for real-time analysis, historical reporting or capacity planning purposes.
- Conducts Network Behavioral Analysis (NBA) to automatically determine what's “normal” on your network and subsequently alert you to abnormalities which could be caused by simple mis-configurations or unauthorized malicious activity such as: scans/floods, zero-day attacks, spy/malware or internal misuse.
- Provides another layer of defense in your “defense indepth strategy,” as it not only complements existing security products, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and AV, but also augments them by detecting new zero-day threats or insider misuse that are missed by those same products.
- Is backed by a team of industry-leading security researchers called the Arbor Security Engineering & Response Team (ASERT), who provide up-to-date information and network behavioral “fingerprints” via the Active Threat Feed (ATF) service, for detection and analysis of known and unknown threats such as worms, botnets, phishing/pharming, host/ports scans and other malware.
- Easily produces customizable, on-demand or scheduled network usage reports which can ease the burden associated with meeting internal or regulatory compliance (i.e. SOX, GLBA, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) or conducting in-depth forensics.
