Recognized by Red Herring Editors for Innovation and Business Strategy
LEXINGTON, Mass.– May 11, 2004 – Arbor Networks®, the leading provider of network integrity solutions, today announced the company has been named to the 2004 Red Herring 100 list as one of the top private companies with the largest impact on the marketplace.
The Red Herring 100 recognizes the top 100 private companies across the globe whose services, business models, products and quality of management define business innovation. It previews the leaders of tomorrow in a number of key technology-related sectors, including software, biotechnology, wireless, communications services, media, hardware, nanotechnology, consumer electronics and energy.
Red Herring publisher Alex Vieux said the Red Herring 100 award has a tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs.
"At the Red Herring, we scour the industry to identify the best and brightest technology companies that are transforming the current markets and creating new ones," said Vieux. "The Red Herring 100 is our annual list of the most promising private companies. Like Google, eBay, Salesforce.com, and other previous Red Herring 100 alumni, these 100 have the potential to become the next titans of technology."
"We are honored to be named to two prestigious Red Herring lists in the past four years," said Thomas Arthur, President and CEO of Arbor Networks. ''Arbor Networks has continued its momentum in the network security marketplace in 2003, with more than 75 Fortune 1000 and government customers worldwide. By detecting, tracing and mitigating worms and DDoS attacks on some of the world's largest most complicated networks, Arbor makes sure its customer's businesses reliably operate even during very large zero day attacks.”
Arbor Networks also was named as one of Red Herring’s “Ten to Watch” in 2001. In its seventh year, the Red Herring 100 has become the most respected list of its kind. Red Herring editors compile the list by using the same combination of subjective insights and hard metrics favored by venture capitalists and investment bankers. These factors predict a company's ability to disrupt existing markets or create entirely new ones.
