Identify Subscribers, Measure Usage and Enforce Network Policies
The software embedded in the e30 platform associates traffic with a specific subscriber or subnet using one of several methods of subscriber identification. It retrieves the policies for each subscriber and uses those policies to classify the subscriber’s flows. When the subscriber initiates a new flow, the e30 embedded software determines the corresponding policy based on the attributes of the first packet in each flow, plus an optional application signature. Then it programs the information in the platform’s flow tables.
